Blue Monday-Paragould presents the Rob Alley Band
KASU 91.9 FM presents the Rob Alley Band at the next Blue Monday-Paragould, Monday, Nov. 17, from 7-9 p.m. at Blue Monday-Paragould's new location – the RedRob Alley Goose Deli, 117 N. Pruett Street, downtown Paragould. Admission to the Blue Monday-Paragould concert featuring the Rob Alley Band is free, but seating is limited. The Rob Alley Band consists of Rob Alley, adjunct professor of music at Arkansas State University, on trumpet, Corey Emerson on trombone, Grant Garland on piano and vocals, Derek Doyle on acoustic bass, and Mike Overall on drum set. They are arguably one of the most versatile bands in Arkansas. Rob Alley is a recipient of the 2007 Arkansas Arts Council Fellowship Grant for Composition. He has performed and/or recorded with Yo-Yo Ma, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and the Tuscaloosa Horns, among many other ensembles and artists. Catherine Hickland is keynote speaker for business event
Soap opera star and founder of Cat Cosmetics Catherine Hickland is the keynote speaker Monday, Nov. 17, at 12 noon, as part of ASU’s College of Business Global Entrepreneurship Week. The week's events seek to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. Hickland's presentation will be held in the Student Union Auditorium. Hickland will make a separate appearance on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. with speed hypnotist John Cerbone. The two will present their Hilarious Hypnosis entertainment show in the ASU Convocation Center Auditorium. SBTDC offers seminars for small businesses
ASU’s Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) will host three seminars Tuesday, Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 20 to help small businesses. Prospective and existing business owners can find answers on how to obtain financing in “Business Financing Options,” Nov. 18 from 9 a.m.-noon at the East Arkansas Planning and Development District, 2905 King Street, in Jonesboro. “Intermediate QuickBooks,” a computerized accounting program for business owners and entrepreneurs, will be presented Nov. 18, and Nov. 20, from 6-9 p.m., at the ASU Technical Center, 5504 Krueger Drive, in Jonesboro. Torchbearer celebrations approach rapidly
Almost 600 faculty and staff members at ASU are Torchbearers. Fill out a pledge card and receive an invitation to the Torchbearers event of your choice (breakfast or happy hour) next Tuesday.
