ASU Theatre announces cast,
performance dates, for 'The Rimers of Eldritch'
Oct. 28, 2008 --
ASU Theatre announces the cast for its second production of the year,
“The Rimers of Eldritch” by Lanford Wilson. “The Rimers of Eldritch”
will be
performed Friday-Saturday, Nov. 14-15 and Tuesday-Wednesday, Nov. 18-19
at 7:30 p.m. at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro. A “meet the
company” dessert reception will follow the November 14 opening night
performance.
The drama asks, “Who is this man, who murdered him, and what were the
circumstances?” To solve the tragic mystery, Lanford Wilson looks at the
outside and the inside of a tiny Midwestern town. He grasps the very
fabric of Bible Belt America, with its catchwords for morality and its
capability for the vicious. A New York Times review speaks of the play’s
“fluidity, for its language, for its almost musical sense of pattern.”
Children younger than six years old are not admitted to The ASU Theatre.
Latecomers to the theatre will not be seated until after intermission,
so early arrival is urged.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Tickets
may be purchased for reserved seating in advance at the ASU Central Box
Office in the Convocation Center or by calling 972-ASU1. Tickets are
also available online at tickets.astate.edu. Reserved seating tickets
(if available) may be purchased at the door on the evening of the
performance. Reservations are highly recommended.
The ASU
Theatre’s production of “The Rimers of Eldritch” is under
the stage direction of Bob Simpson, professor of Theatre. Scenic design
will be by Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of Theatre. Brent Foland,

management duties for the production have been assigned to Amy Penny, a
