Small Business and Technology
Development Center adds three seminars
Nov. 12, 2008 --
Arkansas State University’s Small Business and
Technology Development Center (SBTDC) will host three seminars Tuesday,
Nov. 18 and Thursday, Nov. 20 to help small businesses with “Business
Financing Options” and “Beyond the Basics: Intermediate QuickBooks.”
Prospective and existing business owners can find answers on how to
obtain financing in “Business Financing Options,” Nov. 18 from 9
a.m.-noon at the East Arkansas Planning and Development District, 2905
King Street, in Jonesboro.
ASU SBTDC director Herb Lawrence will discuss credit requirements,
funding locations, and the SBTDC’s loan guarantee program. Registration
is $35, and co-sponsors are East Arkansas Planning and Development
District and the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“Intermediate QuickBooks,” a computerized accounting program for
business owners and entrepreneurs, will be presented Nov. 18, and Nov.
20, from 6-9 p.m., at the ASU Technical Center, 5504 Krueger Drive, in
Jonesboro.
Cost is $80 per person each night or $100 for both nights. Space is
limited to the first 20 paid participants. Advance registration is

The two-night series explains how to put QuickBooks Pro into work for a
small business and participants will learn to use the advanced features
found in payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and inventory.
The workshop is co-sponsored by East Arkansas Planning and Development
District, Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, Gillmore’s Camo,
Computer Tutor, and Jones and Company, Ltd.
