Office presents posters at annual research
conference
Members of the
Office of Behavioral Research and Evaluation (OBRE) in the
College of Education recently presented two posters at the 22nd
annual Research Conference on Systems of Care held recently in
Tampa, Fla. The conference featured research from various Systems of
Care (programs designed to help children with mental health issues)
that are funded through the Center for Mental Health Services, a
division of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services
Administration (SAMHSA). OBRE’s two posters focused on evaluations
of (1) cultural competence among children's service providers, and
(2) the integrity of services provided to children with severe
emotional disturbances. OBRE contributors to the posters included
Christy Brinkley, Valencia Cash, Dr. Latoya Pierce,
Dr. David Saarnio, and Dr. Josie Welsh. April
Coleman, a recent graduate of ASU’s psychology program, also
contributed, along with external collaborators Walter Darnell from
Counseling Services of East Arkansas and Pam Marshall of the
Arkansas Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health. Both
posters are available for viewing on
OBRE’s website. OBRE serves as the evaluation team for Arkansas’
System of Care, ACTION for Kids.
