Homecoming: A-State Fair
Students and alumni will be involved in a large slate of Homecoming activities this week.  The theme is "A-State Fair."  The Distinguished Alumni this year are Larry Brewer of Paragould and Wayne Hartsfield of Searcy (read more). The Alumni Relations Office has listed lots of Homecoming details at http://alumni.astate.edu/events/homecoming.html.  See you at the Fifth Quarter Party after the game!

United Way Campaign at ASU
ASU's campaign for United Way is underway.  Brochures and pledge cards from the United Way of Greater Jonesboro are in campus mail to all faculty and staff.  Prizes will be awarded!  Every effort was made to include everyone; if you are a new employee and do not receive a brochure by Friday, please contact Dawn Tucker, dtucker@astate.edu.  Let's all work together to support the local member agencies, whose mission is to serve you, your friends and your neighbors.  When you "Choose to Care," you make a difference.

Inside ASU: second issue
Welcome to the second edition of "Inside ASU," a web-based newsletter for faculty and staff at Arkansas State University.  Several faculty and staff responded favorably last week to the first edition.  As with other web pages, this product will evolve as we see opportunities for improvement.  We added an "archive" page this week, and the link is near the bottom of the left column.  Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Vice Chancellor named Wednesday
Many of you attended the announcement ceremony Wednesday where Dr. Wyatt introduced Dr. Susan Davis Allen of Florida State University as the first Vice Chancellor for Research and Academic Affairs.  Read more in the news release on NewsPage.  The appointment was prominently covered in the local news media, as well as the Democrat-Gazette and Arkansas Business online.

Campus News
As mentioned in last week's edition, Campus News will continue to list faculty and staff achievements on the web.  See it at
