Welcome to new and returning faculty
New faculty are participating in
orientation
today and Tuesday, followed by the annual Faculty Conference
Wednesday and other meetings. Best wishes to all for a very
successful year!

Dr. Neale Bartee performs in England
Dr. Neale Bartee, Music, performed at the
International Trombone Festival last month in Birmingham, England.
Dr. Bartee was invited to participate in the American Trombone
Choir, which included college professors from seven states. He was also in the
world’s largest concert of trombone players documented by the
Guinness Book of World Records.
Dr. David Cox participates in Harvard workshop
Dr. David Cox, Education, attended an eight-day workshop at Harvard on The Art and Practice of
Leadership Development. Faculty with the John F. Kennedy School
of Government Executive Education program led the experience for 50 trainers, educators, and consultants from
all over the world. Dr. Cox will apply what he learned with
“case-in-point” teaching to his doctoral courses in the Educational
Leadership program this academic year.
ASU Bookstore
opens today in Reng Center
The ASU Bookstore opens today in the long-awaited Reng Student
Services Center. The Bookstore is completely remodeled, having the
look of an upscale store. In addition, the Bookstore has much more merchandise.
And, don't forget -- all faculty and staff receive 25% off used books and
merchandise and 10% off new books. Bookstore hours are 7:45 a.m.
until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. On home football game days, the
bookstore will open at 9 a.m. and remain open until one hour prior
to game time. A grand opening is planned for
mid-October, along with the remainder of the Reng Student Services
Center.

Reminder: Residence hall
move-in day
is this Saturday, Aug. 19, with Operation Move-in held from 9 a.m.
until 4 p.m. in the various halls.
Look for photos and additional information about the new residence
hall later this week in Inside ASU. Classes will begin next
Monday, Aug. 21.
