Evan Lindquist receives Lifetime Achievement Award
Evan Lindquist, emeritus professor of art, has dedicated his life and career to his art through 40 years of teaching and mentoring thousands of students. And for his many years of dedication and service, he has recently been honored as a recipient of one of the Governor's Arts Awards. Lindquist will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award and will be recognized this fall at the Governor's Arts Award Luncheon in Hot Springs, when he and other seven recipients from arts and tourism are recognized. Assessment Services plans early fall summits & colloquy
In case you missed the email last week about the upcoming assessment activities, Assessment Services has been busy planning the Academic Chairs Summits and the First Fall Faculty Colloquy. The Academic Chairs Summits will be held on Wednesday July 21, and Wednesday Aug. 4, at 1:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center. And the first Fall Faculty Colloquy will be held on Wednesday Aug. 18. Assessment Services is dedicated to helping faculty design and assess learning environments that demonstrate ASU's commitment to excellence in undergraduate education through workshops, individual consultations, and funding opportunities. Travel to England & Scotland with ASU-Newport
ASU-Newport is planning a trip to England and Scotland for March 12-19, 2005. Anyone interested in going with the group on the eight-day educational tour may call the ASU-Newport Office of Admissions for more details, 870-676-1676. College credit is available. The estimated cost is around $2,000 for adults and $1,700 for students. Faculty, staff and students are welcome.

Alumni needs information for Homecoming schedule
If your organization, department or college has an activity you would like printed in the brochure promoting the Homecoming festivities this fall, please contact Molly in Alumni Relations before July 23 at: mphillip@astate.edu.  Information may also be included in the next issue of Affairs of State which will be mailed to all alumni.
