Commencement ceremony is Friday
This Friday, Dec. 15, ASU will hold its Commencement ceremony at the Convocation Center. At this commencement, 730 candidates for degrees will be recognized, with 563 undergraduate students and 167 graduate students. All faculty, graduates, friends, and family members are invited to the reception following the ceremony. The reception will be held on the mezzanine level, between the blue entrance and the green entrance. For details, call Academic Affairs at ext. 2030.

Dr. Jones-Branch serves as keynote speakerDr. Cherisse Jones-Branch
Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch, History, was the keynote speaker at the 90th anniversary celebration of the Phillis Wheatley Literary and Social Club, where she presented "Loyal Women of Palmetto: Black Women's Clubs in Charleston, South Carolina." The celebration was held at the Avery Research Center for African-American History and Culture at the College of Charleston.

Celebration honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
ASU's Student Activities Board, in conjunction with the ASU Office of Multicultural Affairs, the ASU Student Government Association, and the ASU Music Department, plans a three-day observance to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration takes place Jan. 15-17, 2007. Harlem Globetrotters coming to Convocation Center
It's not too soon to consider next year's entertainment. The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing the "Nothing Like It" world tour to the Convocation Center on Monday, Jan. 8, with a 7 p.m. tip-off. Tickets start at $16, and are available at the Convocation Center Central Box Office or at The Mall at Turtle Creek ASU Concierge Desk. Tickets are available by phone at 888-ASU FANS and 870-972-ASU1, or online at http://tickets.astate.edu.
 

Tribal Leadership Center requests coat donations

Reminder: ASU’s Tribal Leadership Center is continuing its coat drive. Coats of all sizes for adults and children are needed. Donated coats may be dropped off at West Cleaners, 3418 E. Nettleton Ave. Coats collected will be given away as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Commitment to Wellness Campaign, slated for January 15, 2007. For details, contact Jerrod Lockhart, ext. 2055.
