Dr. Terry Roach is awarded SBEA's highest honor
Dr. Terry Roach, Business Communication, is the recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Leadership Award presented annually at the Southern Business Education Association Dr. Terry RoachConference (SBEA) in Louisville, Ky. This award is the SBEA’s highest honor. Dr. Roach was recognized for his continued excellence to the teaching profession and for his outstanding service and leadership. Dr. Roach has served as the president of the SBEA, the Arkansas Business Education Association, the Southwest Administrative Services Association, and the Gamma Theta chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon. His previous awards include outstanding service to the College of Business at ASU, Collegiate Teacher of the Year, the Business Teacher Educator of the Year from the Arkansas Business Association, and the Business Teacher Educator of the Year from the Southern Business Education Association. Dr. Hyun-Duck Kim makes presentations at conference
Dr. Hyun-Duck Kim, Physical Education, made two presentations during the annual conference  of Sport, Entertainment, and Venues Tomorrow, held in Columbia, S.C. Dr. Kim presented "Service marketing in the sport and entertainment industry: Theoretical and practical evaluation of the SERVQUAL model," and "How psychic impacts affect financial support from residents for sporting events." Dr. Kim's research interests have been linked to identifying or understanding service delivery processes between sport service providers and consumers, including spectators, fans, and participants.

Bailey and Creibaum present in South Carolina
Jeff Bailey, assistant library director, and Linda Creibaum, acquisitions Linda Creibaumlibrarian, Jeff Baileyrecently presented "Developing a Library Collection Development Allocation Formula" at the Charleston Conference in Charleston, South Carolina. The presentation concerned the weighted formula used at the Dean B. Ellis Library to allocate funds for library resources to academic departments. The formula is based on a variety of factors, including the number of degrees awarded, departmental credit hour production, graduate programs, and the average costs of books and journals in each discipline. The Charleston Conference is an annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and vendors of library materials from several continents to discuss issues of importance to them all.


Fowler Center Series offers Tony Kenny Christmas event
Fowler Center Series presents Tony Kenny’s “Christmas Time in Ireland” Monday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m., Riceland Hall, Fowler Center. "Christmas Time in Ireland" is a dynamic concert presenting the finest in Irish song, dance, music, and laughter. Starring vocalist Tony Kenny, Ireland’s 1998 Entertainer of the Year, the lineup also includes Gregory Donaghy, Claddagh, Victoria Kenny, and the Dublin City Dancers. This family show takes the audience on a magical journey to the Emerald Isle at Christmas. Imagine a warm turf fire on a cold night, a rousing sing-along by the hearth, favorite Christmas songs and hymns, and exuberant dancing.
