Bradbury Gallery presents 2007 Faculty Biennial
ASU’s Bradbury Gallery will begin the academic year with the
2007 Faculty Biennial. This exhibition features new work by the
studio faculty of the art department.
An opening
reception will be held Thursday, Aug. 30, at 5 p.m. Many of the
exhibiting artists will be present at the opening reception. The Faculty Biennial
runs through Sept. 30, 2007.The exhibition and the opening reception
are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are noon-5 p.m.,
Tuesday through Saturday, and 2-5 p.m. on Sunday. In observation of
the Labor Day weekend, the gallery will be closed from Saturday-Monday, Sept.

Dr. Kim publishes article in academic journal
Dr. Hyun-Duck Kim, Physical Education, recently
completed a new publication,
the article, "An Investigation into Relationships among Constructs
of Service Quality, Customer Satisfaction, and Repurchase Intention
in Korean Private Golf Courses." Kim's article appeared in ICHPER
SD Journal of Research, a biannual scholarly publication of the
International Council for Health, Recreation, Sport, and Dance, one
of the most prestigious governing bodies in the sport and recreation
industry.
Dr.
Medina-Bolívar speaks at phytochemical conference
Dr. Fabricio
Medina-Bolívar, Plant Metabolic Engineering, ABI, gave a talk at the annual meeting of the Phytochemical Society of North America, at the
Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis. His talk focused on
using hairy roots to study how plants respond to environmental
pollutants. This presentation was a collaborative effort among the
research groups headed by Dr. Argelia Lorence, Plant Metabolic
Engineering, Dr. Kelly Redeker, Analytical Chemistry, Dr. Robyn Hannigan, Geochemistry, and Dr. Medina-Bolívar. Dr. Medina-Bolívar's
research group also made three other presentations at the meeting,
including a talk by Dr. Ganapathy Sivakumar, Plant Metabolic
Engineering, ABI, and two posters from Molecular Biosciences PhD
students Jose Condori and Cesar Nopo-Olazabal.
Non-Trad
Student Services welcomes students
On Tuesday, Aug. 28, Non-Traditional Student Services kicks
off its fall event schedule with an A-State Welcome. This includes a
non-traditional student orientation, and a meet-and-greet with
Chancellor Potts and other campus leaders. This event also provides an
opportunity to win book scholarships. The A-State Welcome will be
held in the Mockingbird Room, Student Union, from noon-2 p.m. The
Office of Non-Traditional Student Services helps
provide a comfortable, supportive, and relevant environment where
non-traditional students can address their needs.

Fan Appreciation Day slated for
Saturday, Aug. 25
Fans can get a first look at the
Indians' new uniforms on Fan Appreciation Day, Saturday.
The event begins at 10 a.m. as the team has a final scrimmage
marking the end of fall camp, prior to the season
opening on Saturday, Sept. 1, against Texas. Free food and drinks,
provided by Kroger and Pepsi, will be served to the first 1,000
fans. Tickets, individual and season,
may be purchased by visiting the ASU Box Office at the Convocation
Center's red entrance, calling the ticket
