Drs. Agnew & McJunkin have papers accepted
Dr. David Agnew, Agriculture, and Dr. Mark McJunkin, Education, along with doctoral student David Powell had four papers accepted for presentation at the 13th International Conference on Learning held at Montego Bay, Jamaica, last month. Agnew and McJunkin attended the conference. The papers were titled: A Model for Service Learning: Leadership Development in Adult Education; No Child Left Behind: A Model for Integration of Core Academic Subjects with Agricultural and Environmental Content; What Student Leaders Want: Preferences for Involvement in College Student Leadership Organizations; and A Model for Agricultural Literacy: Clarifying a Vision for Practical Application

Ron Carroll receives alumnus award
Ron Carroll, Athletics, who has served as ASU's head certified trainer for the last 30 years, has been selected as an Outstanding Alumnus at Indiana State University in the Athletic Training Department. Carroll received the award last month at an ISU alumni reception held during the National Athletic Trainers Association annual symposium in Atlanta. Only 12 previous recipients have been honored with the Outstanding Alumnus award out of more than 950 ISU athletic training graduates. To see the news release, click here.

New Student Orientation: July 11 & 25
New Student Orientation (NSO) will be held Tuesday, July 11 and 25, beginning at 7:45 a.m. with registration in the Student Union, followed by a welcoming in the Auditorium at 8:30 a.m. NSO will continue throughout the day across campus. Color Play opens July 18 at the Museum
"Color Play: Exploring the Art and Science of Color" comes to the ASU Museum Tuesday, July 18, and will continue through Sept. 2. The exhibition invites children to play with colors through whole-body experiences and hands-on interactives. The centerpiece is the Color Playhouse, a 12-foot by 24-foot house with whimsical trompe-l’oeil detailing that beckons children to enter and explore. This exhibition is sponsored by the D.W. Reynolds Arkansas Children’s Discovery Centers Network, of which the ASU Museum is a member. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is a suggested donation of $2 per person. Click here for more details.

Summer Pottery Club Sale next week
Reminder:  The Art Department will host its annual Summer Pottery Club Sale, beginning Thursday, July 13, from 10 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m. The Pottery Club Sale will also be held on Friday, July 14, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday, July 15, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The sale will be held at The Edge Coffeehouse, 1900 Aggie Rd., just one block off the campus.
