& Law, delivered a presentation on identity theft to the northeast
chapter of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants

Accountancy.

for publication

Tina Quinn, Dr. John Robertson and Becky Carr, all
of Accounting & Law, had an article accepted for publication in the
CPA Journal. The article discusses the underreporting of tip income
and employer only audits for the resulting social security tax due.
The journal is published by the New York State Society of Certified
Public Accountants and is one of the leading practitioner journals
in accountancy.

Faculty articles raise awareness of
research
An
article on “green power,” written by Dr. Chris Edrington,
Electrical Engineering, was published in Wednesday’s Jonesboro Sun. This
article is considered a milestone, because it is the 50th
installment in a series of articles by ASU faculty. The Sun
began running the series in July of last
year. All of
the published articles are also
accessible through the Department of Biological Sciences
web page. The series is supplemented by a radio show
each Monday at 4:44 p.m. on KASU, and a series of video productions
are underway with distribution anticipated this fall. Dr. Al
Romero, chair, Biological Sciences, has coordinated these
ongoing efforts to raise public awareness of the work in which ASU
faculty members are involved, but he hands the credit to a long list
of individuals who have written articles and scripts, voiced
broadcasts, led writing workshops and maintained web sites.
Congratulations to all!
