Athletics receives academic
awards
ASU athletes received
academic honors at the Sun Belt Conference spring meetings in
Destin, Fla., last week. ASU was one of 12 Sun Belt Conference
schools recognized for graduating its student-athletes at a rate
higher than its general student body. For the last three years, the
student-athlete graduation has been more than 50 percent. Two
advisors help with class scheduling, visiting with instructors on
academic progress for individual students, and overseeing tutorial
help with class work. ASU also received the team academic awards for
men’s golf, baseball, and women’s tennis at the league’s honors
banquet. It is the third straight year for tennis and baseball to
win the award and golf has won two of the last three years.
