Chancellor search update
As of today, Thursday, April 27, Arkansas State University has received applications from 14 individuals for the new position of chancellor for the Jonesboro campus.  The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee will meet during the week of May 8 to begin reviewing the applications. The committee will continue in its role until the Board of Trustees fills the position.  The goal remains to have individuals on campus in early June for interviews and public introductions. The Board of Trustees is expected to make an appointment by early July. Higher Education Coordinating Board meeting
The Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board will meet Friday morning at 10 at ASU-Newport.  The agenda includes a proposal for the master of social work degree.  The agenda is available on the Department of Higher Education web site.http://www.arkansashighered.com/qmeet/2006-04-Apr-Agenda.pdf.

Employee service and performance awards
The annual ceremony for recognizing employees for service and distinguished performance is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Student Union auditorium, followed by a reception in the Heritage Lounge.  Those retiring also will be recognized. Everyone is welcome to attend.
