Invitation for grant proposals from Kays Foundation
The Kays
Foundation is inviting proposals from members of the ASU-Jonesboro
faculty for the 2007-08 academic year. The Kays Foundation provides
grants to support faculty, departments, colleges, or other entities
to assist in furthering the teaching, research and service goals at ASU. For the 2007-08 academic year, no grant will exceed $20,000.
Application forms and other information are available from the
foundation offices, 1212 E. University Loop, or via email at
mailbox@kaysfoundation.com or by calling 931-7898. Proposals
must be received in the foundation office no later than 4 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006. Successful applicants will be announced in
January 2007.

Genova & Dimitrov to perform
at Fowler Center
As one of the Riceland
Distinguished Performance
Series events, the sensational European piano duo of Genova &
Dimitrov will perform Thursday, March 9. The concert will begin at
7:30 p.m., as the piano duo shows off both of the Fowler Center’s
concert grand pianos. In addition to the concert, Genova & Dimitrov
will hold a master class on Friday, March 10, for music
students. The Fowler Center concert program will include
compositions by Brahms, Rachmaninov, Busoni, Ravel, and Gershwin.
Performance tickets may be purchased by calling 972-2781 or
online. Prices are $23 and
$15 for ASU faculty and staff with a special ASU student rate of $10

Network On Wheels to provide
technology, today
The Cisco Systems “Network On Wheels” (NOW) van will be on campus
today to provide interested faculty, staff, and students with an
opportunity to see the latest in network technologies. This event is
sponsored by Information & Technology Services, Cisco Systems, and Prosys. The van will be located beside the Information
& Technology
Services data center, 2713 Pawnee, on the east side of the campus.
Please

public, but registration is required to attend.
Cross-Town Trio to perform March 8
The Department of Music will present the ensemble Cross-Town Trio in
concert Wednesday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center
Recital Hall. As a chamber music ensemble, the trio formed the group six
years ago in response to the theme of the World Saxophone Congress
XII held in Montreal. Dr. Karen Griebling, viola, and Dr. John Krebs,
piano, both teach at Hendrix College and Dr. Jackie Lamar,
saxophone, teaches at the University of Central Arkansas. In
addition to the Montreal Congress, Cross-Town Trio has performed at
the Arkansas Governor’s School and with the Arkansas Symphony
Orchestra Chamber Music Series “Music in the Market.” Admission is

Faculty Recital to host guest violinist
The Department of Music will present a Faculty Recital on Sunday,
March 12, at 3 p.m. in Fowler Center, Riceland Hall. The recital
will include faculty member Dr. Lauren Schack Clark and guest
violinist Dr. Stephen Sims. The program for the afternoon will
include Tre Canti by Ildebrando Pizzetti, Sonata in G
Minor by Claude Debussy, and Sonata in A Major by César
Franck. The concert is free and open to the public. For more

Faculty Resource Guide is now
online
The 2006 edition of the Faculty Resource
Guide is now available online in PDF format through a link on
the NewsPage. The
University Communications Office surveyed all full-time faculty last
fall to gather and update entries for the latest edition. Copies have been distributed to selected news media representatives
in Jonesboro, Little Rock and Memphis, and also to the deans and
chairs. In addition to news media, the guide is often used by civic
organizations and others seeking faculty expertise. It's not
too early to start submitting information for the next edition. Send revisions and additions to Tom Moore, director of university
