Spring semester classes begin today
As all faculty and students return to begin another semester, the staff of Inside ASU wishes everyone a productive and pleasant spring semester. We urge you to submit newsworthy items to us -- news, information, events, notes on professional achievements, publications, awards for service, and other items of interest to or about the university community. To ensure coverage of events through Inside ASU and through our media relations initiatives, we need to receive information about a month prior to the dates on which those events will occur. Feedback is always appreciated; send input and items of interest to both Tom Moore and Sara McNeil.

ASU renews emphasis on International Programs
A renewed emphasis on recruiting, enrollment and educational programs for international students is showing progress at ASU-Jonesboro, Chancellor Robert L. Potts announced today. From the time he became chancellor in 2006, Potts has stated several times that he believes a stepped-up effort to increase the enrollment of international students will have many educational and financial benefits for ASU and the region. Today he announced that after a search process and recommendation from Dr. Dan Howard, vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research, he has appointed Cagri Bagcioglu to serve as assistant vice chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research with emphasis on international initiatives and special projects. Bagcioglu has extensive international contacts and experience that will be key to building the international student population. See details in the NewsPage release.

Convocation of Callers begins Jan. 21
