Dr. Ogendi to travel to Kenya
for documentary shoot
Dr.George Ogendi, Environmental Geology, will travel to Kenya
this month as part of a team that will shoot a documentary film
based on Maude Barlow's book, "Blue Gold."
The goal of the
documentary film is to capture and expose to the world the plight of
low income families in a developing country as they attempt to
obtain water. As water becomes increasingly commodified and heavily
priced by private water corporations, the poor in rural and urban
communities have been denied access to this most basic and important
resource. While in Kenya, Dr. Ogendi will also attend the World
Social Forum in Nairobi from Jan. 20-25.
