Welcome back for Spring Semester
Welcome back to all faculty, students, and staff as ASU gets ready to begin another semester. Classes will get underway Monday, Jan. 8. Spring break will be March 19-24, only 7 weeks and two days away, and Commencement will be Saturday, May 5.

Sherry Johnson is assistant to Chancellor
Sherry JohnsonCongratulations to Sherry Johnson, who began her duties yesterday as assistant to Dr. Robert L. Potts, chancellor at ASU-Jonesboro. Mrs. Johnson formerly served as the assistant to Dr. Lynita Cooksey in the Office of Research and Academic Affairs. An employee at ASU since 1986, she worked in the Department of Biological Sciences before moving to RAA.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration scheduled
ASU’s Student Activities Board, the ASU Office of Multicultural Affairs, the ASU Student Government Association, and the ASU Music Department will hold a three-day celebration commemorating the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The celebration takes place Jan. 15-17 and features a Commitment to Wellness campaign, a march, and assorted lectures and performances. Undergraduate and Graduate Bulletins online now
The 2006-2007 Undergraduate and Graduate Bulletins are now online. To access the bulletins, go to the ASU homepage and click on the A-Z Index on the upper right. Click on or scroll down to B, and choose "Bulletin-Graduate," or "Bulletin-Undergraduate." If "Bulletin-Graduate" is selected, the Graduate School homepage opens, and the Graduate Bulletin can be accessed by clicking on the Graduate Bulletin link at the upper left of the page. If "Bulletin-Undergraduate" is selected, the Office of the Registrar's Undergraduate Bulletin page will open. Click on the Undergraduate Bulletin link, and a new page will open. Choose the topmost link (2006-2007 Arkansas State University) for the current bulletin.

New link added to Shared Governance web page
A new link to the Shared Governance web page allows faculty and staff to review documents routed through the shared governance process. From the ASU homepage, click on the A-Z Index, then click on or scroll down to S. Choose "Shared Governance"; when the Shared Governance Committees page opens, choose "Shared Governance Documents for Review." Policy revisions and other appropriate academic and institutional governance documents to be posted by divisions should be forwarded to Marilyn Brewer in the Chancellor's Office. Currently, a policy revision on graduate faculty status is posted.

Harlem Globetrotters coming to Convocation Center
The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are bringing the "Nothing Like It" world tour to the Convocation Center Monday at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $16, and are available at the Convocation Center Central Box Office, the ASU Concierge Desk at The Mall at Turtle Creek, by phone at 888-ASU FANS and 870-972-ASU1, or online at http://tickets.astate.edu.
