Council selects Marlay for program with NATO and EU officials Dr. Ross Marlay, professor of political science, has been chosen by the Atlantic Council to travel to Brussels, Belgium, in July to attend special sessions of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the European Union. Marlay is one of the 15 professors selected from hundreds of applicants from across the country. The group will receive one week of briefings from high-level officials of NATO and the EU on the evolving security situation in Europe. The Atlantic Council, based in Washington, D.C., is a non-partisan institute that promotes constructive U.S. leadership and engagement in international affairs. Marlay, who teaches courses on American foreign policy and American national defense policies, considers this a critical time in the evolution of NATO and the EU, as both organizations prepare to expand into Eastern Europe and take in new member states that only recently were inside the Soviet empire. # # # |
