'Changing Images, Changing Times' is focus of College of Communications panel

Nov. 2, 2007 -- The panel, "Changing Images in Changing Times," will be Thursday, Nov. 8, from 2-3:15 p.m. in the ASU-TV Studio, first floor of the Education-Communications Building at Arkansas State University-Jonesboro.

This year's discussion will focus on the impact that U.S. Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are having on the face of and race for the presidency. A local issue to be discussed will be changing the ASU mascot.

Guest panelists include Dr. Cyndy Hendershot, associate professor of English at ASU; Janis F. Kearney, former diarist for President Bill Clinton and ASU visiting scholar; Dr. Dean Lee, ASU athletic director; and Dr. Patrick Stewart, associate professor of public administration and co-director of the Center for Social Research (CSR) at ASU.

Now in its 11th year, the panel is being hosted by the College of Communications class, "Race, Gender and Media," which is taught by Dr. Lillie Mae Fears, associate professor of journalism.
