Professions cites outstanding graduates
May 9, 2006 -- The College of Nursing and
Health Professions at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro recognized
its most outstanding graduating students during its annual Convocation
of Scholars honors program, according to Dr. Susan Hanrahan, dean of the
college.
The students were selected by faculty in the individual degree programs
to receive the award for outstanding achievement and service to their
respective departments.
Award winners in the Department of Health Professions and their
respective degree programs were: Angela Taylor of Jonesboro, BS, imaging
specialist; Tracy Henderson of Batesville, Alicia Milam of Dewar, Okla.,
and Bobby Scroggins of Bald Knob, BS, sonography (tie); Amy Harless of
Ellisville, Miss., BS, radiation therapy; Brian Myers of Mammoth Spring,
AAS, radiologic technology; Jessica Whitton of Trumann, BS,
communication disorders; Sarah Saunders and Laura Harrison, both of
Jonesboro, MCD, communication disorders (tie); Dale Menna of North
Little Rock, MPT, physical therapy; Sheila Myers of Batesville, AAS,
physical therapist assistant; and Robert Jay Earley of Pocahontas, BS,
clinical laboratory science; Barbara Thompson of Bono, AS, clinical
laboratory technology;
Award winners in the Department of Nursing were: Kim Tinsley of
Harrison, MSN, nursing, adult health track; Stacey Screws of Lakeland,
Tenn., MSN, nursing, family nurse practitioner track; and Deanna Griffin
of Maumelle, MSN, nursing, nurse anesthesia track; Lauren Beaird of
Sikeston, Mo., BS, nursing; Peronica Smith of Jonesboro, AAS, nursing,
ASU-Jonesboro; Brandon Bunting of Searcy and Carol Person of
Jacksonville, AAS, nursing, ASU-Beebe site; Angel McCoy of Gassville and
Launa McCray of Midway, ASN, nursing, ASU-Mountain Home site.
The award winner in the Department of Social Work was Amanda Davis of
White Hall, BS, social work.
