December issue of
“Arkansas
Review" available now
Jan. 8, 2007--The Department of English and Philosophy at Arkansas State University
announces the publication of the December issue of “Arkansas Review: A
Journal of Delta Studies."
Edited by a committee of faculty and graduate assistants, the magazine
offers an interdisciplinary approach to the seven-state Mississippi
Delta region through academic articles, interviews, fiction, poetry,
creative non-fiction, visual art, and reviews.
The December issue features “Listen,” a sequel to the celebrated novel
Talk, by Memphis bookstore owner and previous Arkansas Review
contributor, Corey Mesler. Ole Miss graduate Anna Baker also has a story
in this issue, while Arkansas natives Ed Madden and Jo McDougall
contribute poems. UCA professor Raymond-Jean Frontain examines the
fiction of Arkansas writer Peter McGehee, and with the permission of the
McGehee family, presents an original story by McGehee.
Members of the ASU community who contributed to this issue of the
journal are book reviewers Brady Banta, Cherisse Jones-Branch, Derek
Allen Clements, William Clements, Gregory Hansen, and Michael P. Spikes.
An individual copy of the
December issue is $7.50. A year’s subscription (three issues) costs
$20.00. Make checks payable to ASU Foundation with “Arkansas Review” on
the memo line. Address to Arkansas Review,
P.O. Box
1890, State University, AR 72467.
