Space Consortium Grant

Nov. 2, 2005 -- Chad Jarrett, a senior mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro has been awarded an Arkansas Space Grant Consortium grant.

Jarrett will be under the direction of his research adviser, Dr. Brad Edgar.

Jarrett spent this summer working as a research intern at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.  Working in the structures and acoustics division under the direction of Dr. Milind Bakhle, he studied the vibration effects of flow through gas turbine engines.

The NASA Glenn Research Center, located on the shores of Lake Erie, focuses on developing cutting-edge technology to advance aviation and space exploration. Glenn researchers specialize in power, propulsion, communications and microgravity science.

Chad Jarrett, a graduate of Valley View High School, is the son of Beverly and Dwain Lutrell and Richard Jarrett, all of Jonesboro. He plans to graduate from ASU in December 2006.
