Lorian
Hemingway to celebrate Hemingways’ Birthdays at Hemingway-Pfeiffer
Museum and Educational Center Lorian Hemingway will present a reading and book signing of her new book, A World Turned Over, in the Hemingway Barn Studio at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center in Piggott, on Saturday, July 27. Afternoon Museum tours at 12:15, 1:15 and 2:15 will include Hemingway’s presentation. A World Turned Over is an unforgettable story of destruction and redemption, tragedy and hope on the day of the Candlestick Tornado in Jackson, Mississippi, March 3, 1966. With a penetrating eye for intimate details and a remarkable gift for storytelling, Hemingway presents vivid portraits of unsung heroes, as well as embattled survivors. It is a moving exploration of faith and hope in the face of tragedy in the neighborhood where she grew up. "Eloquent, raw, funny, this Hemingway has a voice all her own." The New York Times Book Review. The book is currently available at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum Book Shop. Lorian is the granddaughter of Ernest and Pauline Hemingway and great-granddaughter of Paul and Mary Pfeiffer. She is the author of Walking into the River, a novel, and Walk on Water, a memoir. She will also present a reading and book signing at Dorsey’s Gallery adjacent to That Book Store in Blytheville, Friday, July 26, 7:30 p.m. In celebration of the birthdays of Ernest (July 21) and Pauline (July 22) the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center will honor Lorian’s grandparents with a reception as part of the Saturday, July 27, tours. The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational Center is a program of Arkansas State University. # # # |
