Opening reception for art exhibit:
at Jazzman's Hardwired Cafe Jan. 27

Jan. 26, 2005--Jazzman’s Hardwired Café at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will host an opening reception for this semester’s art exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27.

The exhibition by upper level art students, “Green,” features works of lush green colors, in stark contrast to the lack of color in winter.

Tree of LifeArtists include: Amber Bradley and Ashley Morgan, both seniors from Jonesboro, with a painting emphasis in the bachelor of fine arts program; Sarah Hightower, a graduate sculptor from Jonesboro, working on her thesis in the master of arts program; and Lile Stephens, a senior from Heber Springs, with a sculpture emphasis.

“Green” features contemporary sculpture work by Hightower, watercolor studies and video work by Stephens, and oil paintings by Morgan and Bradley. Morgan and Stephens will both be presenting their senior exhibitions later this spring, and are candidates for graduation in May.

Jazzman’s is located on the corner of Caraway and Johnson, and is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m.- 2 a.m., Saturdays from 7 a.m.- midnight and Sundays 11 a.m.- 2 a.m.

For more information about the exhibit, contact Sarah Miller, Hardwired curatorial assistant, at sem2929@hotmail.com.
