Winter Commencement set for Friday,
Dec. 14, at Convocation Center

Dec. 11, 2007 -- Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will hold winter commencement Friday, Dec. 14, with a ceremony at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

The evening ceremony will include all colleges. ASU chancellor Dr. Robert L. Potts will present the diplomas. Brittany Burton, bachelor of arts in Chemistry, summa cum laude, and Honors Program, will be the student speaker. Burton is from West Memphis.

The Registrar’s Office has listed  677 students as candidates for degrees at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Of that number, 150 are graduate degrees, and 527 are undergraduate degrees.

A reception for all graduates, their guests, and faculty and staff will be held on the north mezzanine, between the blue entrance and the green entrance, following the commencement ceremony.

All faculty, staff, graduates, and their friends and families are invited to attend.
