Department of Music
to present Wind Ensemble Concert

Nov. 9, 2006 - The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the ASU Wind Ensemble in concert on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center, Riceland Hall.

The ASU Wind Ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Kenneth Carroll. Musical selections include "March from Symphonic Metamorphosis" by Paul Hindemith, "Adagio for Wind Orchestra" by Joaquin Rodrigo, "Yosemite Autumn" by Mark Camphouse, and "Cantus Laetus" by David R. Gillingham.

Members of the ASU Wind Ensemble include Caitlin Sammons of Bald Knob, Melinda Watts of Nixa, Mo., Ashley Slayton of Paragould, Ashleigh Rainwater of Jonesboro, A.J. Wetton of Van Buren, Mo., flutes; Jessica Crociata of Tampa, Fla., Katie Fischer of Jacksonville, oboes; Tiffany Schmidt of Grand Junction, Colo., oboe and bassoon;

Bryan Eckert of Jonesboro, Alyssa Johnson of Bryant, bassoons; Justin Crabb and Terana Griffin both of Paragould; Amy Van Slyke and Shayeeda Beard both of Highland, Nicole Burdyshaw of Bono, Heather Pittman of Villa Park, Calif., Amanda Riley of Corning, clarinets; Claire Richardson of Jonesboro, soprano and alto saxophone; Patrick Manes of Bryant, Jessica Lynch of Lonoke, alto saxophones; Daniel Rickman of Jonesboro, tenor saxophone; Adam Leslie of Jonesboro, baritone saxophone;

The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the Jazz Lab Band and ASU Tribe in concert on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center, Riceland Hall.

The ASU Jazz Bands are under the direction of new ASU faculty member, E. Ron Horton. This concert promises to have music for jazz fans of all tastes as the band performs big band music from a variety of eras and in a multitude of styles.
