Alexandra Rodery chosen as outstanding  among 32 Who's Who recipients at ASU

Feb. 27, 2009 -- Alexandra Rodery, a junior English major from Piggott, has been selected as the outstanding recipient among the group of 32 representing ArkansasAlexandra Rodery, a junior English major from Piggott, has been chosen this year's outstanding student recipient in Who's Who Among American Universities and Colleges for 2008-09. Rodery was one of ASU 32 students to be selected by Who's Who. State University in Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges for 2008-09.

Rodery is a member of the Chancellor’s and President’s lists as well as Alpha Lambda Delta and Delta Epsilon Iota honor societies. She also holds membership in Golden Key, an honors group, and has a Dean’s Scholarship. Currently serving as the vice president of the ASU Literature Club, Rodery is also the secretary-treasurer of the ASU Philosophy Club.

A member of the ASU theatre department, she is a member of the Pre-Law Club and Public Relations Student Society of America organizations on campus.

As a sophomore, Rodery served as a senator in the Student Government Association (SGA) and is president of communications in Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. An avid lover of the arts, Rodery is also a Foundation of Arts actor and ASU Theatre actor. She is also founding member and adviser of the Clay County Arts Council and works as a volunteer at the Piggott Humane Society.

Rodery, the daughter of District Court Judge Rick M. Rodery and Cheryl Nicholas Rodery, plans to attend law school and may pursue a doctoral degree in literature.

Selections to the Who’s Who Among Students program are made by individual educational institutions from a nominating committee composed of faculty administration and student body representatives, along with editors of the Who’s Who directory. The award highlights scholastic excellence, university service, and leadership in extracurricular activities, community contributions, and potential for continued success.
