honors Neal Vickers with distinguished service award Dr. Neal W. Vickers, director of the Career Services Center at Arkansas State University, was recently honored for his achievements by his professional organization. The Arkansas Association of Colleges and Employers awarded him the Nola Holt Royster Distinguished Service Award, the highest award presented by AACE. The award was established last year following the sudden death of Nola Royster, the director of Career Services at the University of Arkansas. Nominees must have made significant contributions to the association and the field of career services or college recruiting, and must have at least five years of service in the association including one year on the AACE board of directors. A member of the ASU staff since 1992, Vickers is a native of Trumann. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Bible College, a master of education in human services from Drury University, and a doctor of education in educational leadership, with emphasis in higher education administration, from ASU. He has been involved in student employment and career services since 1984, and is active in several professional and civic groups such as the National Association of Colleges and Employers. His wife is the former Teresa Bowen of Trumann. # # # |
