Department of Music presents Tuba and Euphonium ensemble concert Oct. 27

Oct. 17, 2008 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the ASU Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble in concert on Monday, October 27, at 7:30 in the Minx Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Center, 114 South Caraway Road, Jonesboro.

The program for the evening will include “Fanfare for a Friend” and “Hearts Entwined” by John Stevens; “Tubamobile” by Thom Ritter George; and “Tuba Turf” by Lennie Niehaus.  Additionally, solo performances will be given by selected members of the ensemble.

Members of the ensemble include Jacob Davis, Kristin Scott, and Kenny Smith of Piggott; Zach Foster of Pocahontas; Jennifer Hall of Tyronza; Zack Rikard and Daniel Van Aalsburg of Highland; Jay Shepherd and P.J. Smith of Paragould; Joshua Smith of Sheridan; Lonnie Simmons of Jonesboro; Shawn Travelstead of Salem; Andrew Van Brook of Hoxie; and Matt Watson of Walnut Ridge. The ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Ed Owen, associate professor of Music.

This concert is free and open to the public.
