Department of Music to present
The Tribe in concert March 1

Feb. 23, 2005-The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the ASU Jazz Band, known as “The Tribe,” in concert on Tuesday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall of Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive.

The Tribe is under the direction of Ed Alexander, director of bands. Musical selections for this concert will include “Children of Sanchez” by Chuck Mangione; “Don’t Get Sassy” by Thad Jones; “See the World” by Pat Netheny arr. Robert Curnow; “Wind Machine” by Sammy Nestico; “Critical Mass” by Jeff Jarvis, and “Jaybirds” by John Fedchock.

Members of the zazz band include: Jon Rohner of Bono, Mike Newsom of Memphis, Tenn., alto saxophone; Drew Breckenridge of Newport, Dadrian Clayton of Jonesboro, tenor saxophone; Tim Miller of Corning, bari saxophone; Sheri Fincher and Vanessa Johns, both of Paragould, Grant Harbison of Jonesboro, Will Hartzell of Forrest City, trumpet;  Blake Howerton and Matt Strawbridge, both of Jonesboro,  Lanny Heidbreder of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Corey Spencer of Wynne, trombone; Max Rand of Paragould, guitar; Corey Emerson of Poplar Bluff, Mo., bass;  Perry Harber of Marion, drums;  Alex Anderson of Marion, vibes.
