Through a Child’s Eyes XXI coming to ASU Museum

Jan. 22, 2007-- The Arkansas State University Museum is preparing for the annual exhibit of children's art, "Through a Child's Eyes XXI." Public and private schools within 60 miles of Jonesboro are invited to submit 10 works of art from children aged 4 through 8th grade. If not represented by a school, individuals may enter artwork. The exhibition will be on display in the museum lobby April 1-30.

Any two-dimensional medium is acceptable. Work should be matted with a sturdy back. No framed work will be accepted. Deadline for entry is March 16.

All artists, their families, teachers, and the public are invited to the reception Sunday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the museum. First-place, second-place, and third-place ribbons will be awarded, along with ribbons for honorable mention. The museum's accession committee will select five pieces from the exhibition for $50 purchase awards. The ASU College of Education has generously contributed towards the purchase awards, and the Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Sciences has donated funds to frame the purchased works.

For additional information and entry forms, contact Stephanie Pointer at 870-972-2074.
