Nov. 23, 2005 -- Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present “Christmas from Dublin” featuring the Three Irish Tenors on Monday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive. This is a Riceland Distinguished Performance Series presentation. Celebrating the holidays with songs such as “The Little Drummer Boy,” “Adeste Fideles,” “Silent Night,” “Savior’s Day,” and “O Holy Night,” the Three Irish Tenors performance is an opportunity to gather with family and friends for quality holiday music and entertainment. The Three Irish Tenors consist of Ciaran Nagle, Anthony Norton, and Brian Dunphy. The group has performed throughout Ireland, the United Kingdom, Asia, and the United States. This is their seventh American tour. Nagle’s credits include Guiseppe in “La Traviata” with the Lyric Opera Company and El Remenada in “Carmen” with the National Concert Hall in Dublin. He was a member of the National Chamber Choir, Ireland’s only full-time professional choir. He has performed in Carnegie Hall with Opera Ireland and in music theatre productions such as “Showboat,” “Westside Story” and “The Merry Widow.” Nagle toured with “Riverdance-The Show” until 2000 when he joined the Three Irish Tenors. Norton studied piano, cello, and conducting at Trinity College of Music in London before beginning his singing career. His debut performance was as a soloist at La Scala in the opera “Oberon.” He has worked with the Scottish Opera, Teatro Alla Scala Milano, Wexford Festival Opera, Opera Ireland, The National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the Opera Theatre Company. Dunphy has performed in many musical theatre production as well, including “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Aspects of Love,” and “Here’s to the Melody.” He starred in “Riverdance-The Show” and was the principal singer at The Gershwin Theatre on Broadway in New York. Dunphy performed the American National Anthem on the “Today Show Christmas Special.” He will be releasing his first solo album, “God Be With Those Days,” next year. Joining the Three Irish Tenors will be an ensemble of musicians as well as special guests, The Irish Divas. Known as three of Ireland’s most recognized female singers, the Irish Divas are Jacqueline Whelan, Danna Davis, and Ellen McElroy.
