ASU Biosciences Institute to host
Growing a Technology Business

Dec. 16, 2005 -- The conference, “Growing a Technology Business,” will be held on the campus of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro at the new Arkansas Biosciences Institute (ABI), on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Highlights of the workshop include informative panel discussions on how to successfully launch a technology-based business. The workshop is designed for entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and other interested individuals who are motivated to put their technology ideas into the marketplace.

More specifically, the topics include patenting, freedom to operate, licensing, raising money, revenue sources, technologies, successful business tips, business planning and community resources.

Panelists include Robert Morris of Butler, Snow, O’Mara, Stevens & Cannada, PLLC; Brad Greenway, Arkansas Department of Economic Development; John Ahlen, Arkansas Science and Technology Authority; Carole Cramer, executive director of the ABI at ASU; David Radin, technology program development at ASU; Selester Bennett, Nature Diagnostics Inc., Virginia; John Howard, Applied Biotechnology Institute, Texas; Tina Cunningham, technology transfer at ASU; and Elizabeth Hood, associate vice chancellor for research and technology transfer, ASU.
