Theatre Department hosts 10th season
of Summer Childrens' productions

3, 2005--The Theatre Department
at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro has released the schedule for
the 2005 ASU Summer Children’s Theatre season. The 10th anniversary
season of children’s theatre will open with “The Elves and the
Shoemaker” by Karen Boettcher-Tate when the midnight magic of elves
reverse the misfortune of a poor shoemaker and his wife.
This upbeat whimsical romp of a fantasy also holds a gentle message
about the nature of kindness. Performance dates are Wednesday, June 22,
at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. and Friday, June
24, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The second production of the 2005 season will be “Witches, Britches,
Rings ‘n Things” by Dave Barton. This patchwork of storytelling brings
together some of the best fairytales including “The Three Sillies” and
“The Billie Goats Gruff.”
Everyone is sure to enjoy lots of audience participation and excitement
from the beginning to end. Performance dates are Wednesday, July 27, at
10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursday, July 28, at 10 a.m. and Friday, July 29,
at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
All performances will be performed at Fowler Center on the ASU campus
and all seating is reserved. Tickets may be purchased (in advance) at
the ASU Central Box Office in the Convocation Center for $3.50, or by
calling 972-ASU1, or online at http://Tickets.astate.edu. Reserved
seating tickets (if available) may be purchased at the door prior to the
performance for $3.50. Advanced reservations are recommended.
