Summer Children's Theatre
productions scheduled

May 3, 2007 -- The Arkansas State University Theatre has released the schedule for the 2007 ASU Summer Children's Theatre season.

The 12th season of children's theatre at ASU will open with "Bigger Than Life!" by Cynthia Mercati. A retelling of tall tales brings some of the best-loved characters in American folklore to life to amuse, amaze, astound, and entertain the audience. Sponsored by Brackett-Krennerich and Associates, Architects, "Bigger Than Life!" runs Wednesday, June 20, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Thursday, June 21, 10 am. and 2 p.m.; and Friday, June 22, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The second production of the 2007 season, "The Invention," by Brad Gromelski, needs audience participation to ensure that the toy machine gets built and the toys get made. Performance dates are Wednesday, July 25, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Thursday, July 26, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Friday, July 27, 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. This production is sponsored by the Golden Grotto.

Performance scholarships for the cast and crew of the Summer Children's Theatre are provided in part by the ASU Theatre Guild.

All performances will be held in Fowler Center, and all seating is reserved. Tickets are $5 and should be purchased in advance at the ASU Central Box Office online or by calling 972-ASU1. If available, tickets may be purchased for $6 at the door the day of the performance. Reservations are highly recommended.
