Department of Music to present Student Honors Recital

April 3, 2007 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University will present its annual Student Honors Recital on Monday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center. Students selected to perform in the recital are chosen by a panel of judges representing the music faculty.

Students performing in this year’s recital are: Chaz Allen, composition, of Springdale; Nickolas Alsup, piano, of Harrisburg; Kimberly Brown, horn, of Forrest City; Bryan Eckert, bassoon, of Jonesboro; Carly Gorman, composition, of Little Rock; Grant Harbison, trumpet, of Jonesboro; Andrew Kjorlaug, baritone, of Paragould; Jessica Lynch, alto saxophone, of Lonoke; Priscilla Noyes, piano, of Dexter, Mo.; Pat Register, soprano, of Florence, Ala.; Janet Rooney, marimba, of Trumann; and Matthew Ryals, guitar, of Imboden.

Accompanists for the recital are Dr. Lauren Schack Clark, Jessica Lynch, Harriet O’Neal, Joy Sanford, Luca Strazzullo, and Willie Sullivan.

The students will present works by Chaz Allen, Matteo Carcassi, Carly Gorman, George Frederick Handel, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Franz Liszt, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Francis Poulenc, Ney Rosauro, Elie Siegmeister, and Alexandre Tansman.
