Department of Music to present
Student Honors Recital

April 3, 2006 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present its annual Student Honors Recital on Monday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall of Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive.

Students are selected to perform on the recital by a panel of judges representing the music faculty. The students will present works by J. Ed Barat, Oskar Bohme, E. Bozza, Frederic Chopin, Paul Creston, Ida Rose-Ether Gotkovsky, George Frederick Handel, V. Monti/Moore, Giacomo Puccini, Franz Strauss, Giuseppe Verdi, and Carl Maria von Weber.

Students performing on this year’s recital include Nickolas Alsup of Harrisburg, piano; Katey Cravens of Jonesboro, marimba, xylophone, vibes, and bells; Peter Davis of Jonesboro, trumpet; Bryan Eckert of Jonesboro, bassoon; Daphne C. Fudge of Forrest City, mezzo-soprano; Grant W. Harbison of Jonesboro, trumpet; Daniel Harrelson of Warren, tenor trombone; Timothy Hendrix of Jonesboro, horn; Allene Kirk of Ravenden, alto saxophone; Andrew Kjorlaug of Paragould, baritone; Claire Richardson of Jonesboro, alto saxophone; and Jonathan Shields of Osceola, tenor.

Accompanists for the recital include Dr. Lauren Schack-Clark, Harmony Fortson, Carly Gorman, Frances Gray, Priscilla Noyes, and Joy Sanford.
