World Languages and Cultures to present free Spanish movie night Dec. 1

Nov. 24, 2009 -- "The Motorcycle Diaries," a memoir about 23-year-old Ernesto Guevara, who would become internationally known as revolutionary Che Guevara years later, is the movie for Spanish Movie Night, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m. in Arkansas State University’s Wilson Hall, Room 317, 105 S. Caraway Road.

Admission is open to everyone and is free of charge. The movie is sponsored by ASU’s Department of World Languages and Cultures.

The film recounts a 1952 journey, initially by motorcycle, across South America by Guevara and his friend Alberto Granado. The road presents the pair a genuine picture of Latin American identity and explores the identity of one of the most famous revolutionaries.
