New exchange agreement announced
with Universidad de Huelva, Spain

April 26, 2005--The Department of Languages and the Office of International Programs at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro announce the signing of a new exchange agreement with the Universidad de Huelva in Huelva, Spain.

This agreement will allow ASU students to study at the Universidad de Huelva for a semester or academic year, interacting with Spanish exchange students on the campus.

The Universidad de Huelva is a relatively new university located on the southwest coast of Spain. It has degree programs in humanities, business, education, experimental science, social work, nursing and applied sciences.
This exchange program is open to all ASU students in every major and also includes faculty exchanges.

“This program offers a wonderful, cost-effective opportunity for ASU students to experience total immersion in the Spanish language and culture. Located in warm, sunny Andalucia in the south of Spain, the Universidad de Huelva is a young and dynamic university that offers a wide range of courses and a welcoming atmosphere,” said Dr. Warren Johnson, interim department chair for the ASU Department of Languages.

The Office of International Programs at ASU has partnered with academic departments and colleges to establish relationships with 15 other universities around the world, allowing students to study abroad at ASU tuition rates. In addition, they offer domestic students the opportunity to study abroad for a summer, semester or an academic year in virtually all subject areas in every continent except Antarctica.
