Cast list announced for 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs'

June 12, 2008 -- The Arkansas State University Theatre will open the 13th season of  ASU Summer Children’s Theatre season with “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,”  adapted by Judith Baker Kase from a tale by the Brothers Grimm. Mirror, Mirror on the wall! Who’s the fairest of them all?  Is it Snow White?  Is it the evil Queen?  Maybe it’s one of the seven dwarfs. This play provides fun for the whole family as the audience learns the identity of the “fairest of them all.”

Under the stage direction of Molly Simpson, professor of theatre, the cast for the season opening production includes Elizabeth Lawson, a senior theatre major from Marion, Heather Wells, a senior theatre major from Heber Springs, and Amanda LaRue, a junior theatre major from Heber Springs, Aaron Beale, a junior theatre major from Sherwood, Nicholas Weeks, a sophomore theatre major from Jonesboro, Sofia Barrett, a senior English major from Jonesboro, Alexandra Rodery, a junior journalism major from Piggott, Ben Gibson, a senior theatre major from Jacksonville, Jeremy Bukauskas, a senior theatre major from Cordova, Tenn., Lauren Emerson, a junior theatre major from Jonesboro, and Donnie Walters, a junior theatre major from Trumann.

The production design team includes scenic design and technical direction by Jeff McLaughlin, assistant professor of theatre, costume design by Laura Perkins, temporary instructor of theatre and lighting design by Manuel Angeles IV, a junior theatre major from Little Rock. Megan Gates, a senior theatre student from Jonesboro, will serve as stage manager.

Performance dates for “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” are Wednesday, June 18, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; Thursday, June 19, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and Friday, June 20, at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. 

This production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” is sponsored by the ASU Theatre Guild.
Scholarships for the ASU Summer Children’s Theatre Company are provided by the guild, a volunteer group dedicated to the growth and development of  theatre at Arkansas State University.

All seating is reserved, and tickets for reserved seating may be purchased in advance at the ASU Central Box Office in the Convocation Center or by calling 972-ASU1. Tickets are also available online at tickets.astate.edu. Reserved seating tickets (if available) may be purchased at the door on the day of the performance. Ticket prices for ASU Theatre's Summer Children's Theatre performances are $5 in advance and $6 at the door. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended.
