Academically –
Unfortunately, ASU has strengths in such areas as journalism, engineering, some business programs, nursing, etc. However, it’s unfortunate the only people who recognize these programs are the alumni who compare themselves to graduates of other institutions.
Outstanding Nursing, Education and Communications programs and the continuing library development (and the development of the Equestrian program and the Ph.D. in Heritage Studies)
A caring faculty and staff that will go out of their way to work with and help students.
A well-qualified faculty. This value is also in decline due to the increased use of graduate students and master’s level temps.

Personal advisement – taking time and effort to support and guide students in their chosen fields.

ASU is not known beyond the state level. It has no national or international reputation/recognition academically or otherwise.
We are known for increasing cost to students, accounting tricks to balance the athletic budget, and being a downright unfriendly place. I doubt if we are respected for those things.
Small student/teacher ratio for better student/teacher interaction.
Large school with small school atmosphere
Affordability
Value (you can receive a good education for a reasonably low price)
Keeping the cost low for those who don’t have the means to attend more expensive institutions.
Teaching

Undergraduate Education

Our vision for the future … the growth of this campus. This is an exciting time to be at this university.
Friendliness
We have a friendlier and warmer environment that most universities among staff, faculty, and students.
Excellent graduates that have a great work ethic
Students who are prepared for jobs in the real world
Athletics
We need to continue to take pride in the fact that we are a Division 1-A university in athletics. This puts us in a different category nationally.
Diversity
Commitment to Diversity at all levels
Environmental Science research – desire to increase graduate programs.
