ASU's SBDE offers IRS E-File workshop for northeast and northcentral Arkansas

Sept. 15, 2008 -- The Arkansas State University Small Business Development Center will present a three-hour workshop, "IRS E-file." Friday, September 19, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the St. Bernards Regional Medical Center Auditorium, 505 E. Washington, in Jonesboro. This is one of many workshops being offered in September by the SBDC.

Guest presenters will be Gregory Metcalf, Jane Fisher, and Samuel Coleman with the Internal Revenue Service, Dan Brown with the Arkansas Department of Revenue, and Charles Burton of the Social Security Administration.

There is no charge for this seminar, but registration is limited to the available seating and advanced registration is requested. To register, interested persons may call the SBDC, 870-972-3517, or visit online at

The tax seminar, sponsored by all three departments, will answer questions like “What is in e-File for me?” and “How do I get started?” Regardless of E-file expertise, the 2008 Tax Practitioner Seminar will provide valuable information on moving businesses forward with the latest e-file program enhancements. In 2008, more than 665,930 Arkansas federal tax returns were filed electronically, a significant increase over the previous year.
