Oct. 17, 2006 -- Chuck Maulden of St. Louis, an alumnus of the Department of Radio-Television at Arkansas State University, will lead the 11th annual College of Communications Alumni Seminar this Saturday, Oct. 21, during Homecoming weekend at ASU. Everyone is invited to attend the alumni seminar, which begins at 10 a.m. in the ASU-TV studio. Admission is free. Maulden will discuss his career experiences and his ideas for revitalizing broadcast journalism. Currently the director of photography and news operations at KSDK-TV, the NBC affiliate in St. Louis, Maulden previously was chief photographer at WVTM in Birmingham, Ala., and at WWMT in Kalamazoo, Mich. Earlier in his career, the 1979 ASU graduate worked at KARK-TV in Little Rock and KAIT-TV in Jonesboro. His assignments have included the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979, President Bill Clinton’s early political life, the Detroit visit by Nelson Mandela in 1989, Pope John’s visit to St. Louis in 1990, and the aftermath of the Asian tsunami in 2004. # # # |
