Jan. 18, 2006 -- Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will host the first Preview Day of the New Year, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, for all high school students interested in enrolling at ASU.
 
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in Fowler Center with events continuing throughout the day until 1 p.m.

Preview Day is the perfect opportunity for high school seniors to see ASU first hand and experience the campus atmosphere by interacting with currently enrolled students as well as faculty and staff.

Students and their family members will have the opportunity to ask questions about majors and degrees during the academic expo and learn more about campus life and activities in the student life expo, while enjoying lots of free food and entertainment. In addition, plenty of time will be given for high school seniors to explore the campus and view the residence halls.

“ASU is excited to show off the campus, our programs and activities to area high school seniors and their families. We have so much going on at ASU, whether it is participating in research activities or celebrating Black History Month to watching one of many new buildings going up around campus,” said Gregory Thornburg, dean of enrollment services.

“Both the Reng Student Services Center, which connects to the Student Union and our new residence hall will be finished for students to enjoy this fall. The new residence hall -- complete with all the latest technology -- is on the northeast side of the campus and will provide private rooms in a suite-style arrangement,” he said.

To register for ASU Preview Day, contact the Office of Admissions at 870-972-3024 or online at http://admissions.astate.edu. Preview Day check-in will be from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive.

There is no cost for students or their families to attend Preview Day and lunch will be provided.

The final Preview Day for this year is Thursday, March 30.
