Department of Music to present
Percussion Ensemble

April 3, 2007 -- The Department of Music at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro will present the ASU Percussion Ensemble in concert under the direction of Craig Collison, on April 17, 7:30 p.m., in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center. The group will also perform April 22 at 2 p.m. at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

Members of the percussion ensemble include Matt Boston of West Memphis, Gabrien Brown of Newport, Katey Cravens of Jonesboro, Curtis Farley of Jonesboro, Shady Francis of Jonesboro, Seth Gaskill of Paragould, Cheyanne Sheppard of Jonesboro, Chris Knight of Sherwood, and Corey Emerson of Jonesboro.

The pieces to be performed include “Sweet Rio” by Arthur Lipner, “Hummingbird” by Stephen Rush, “Idyll for the Misbegotten” by George Crumb, and the first movement of “Concerto for Marimba” by Ney Rosauro, featuring Janet Rooney.
