Department of Music
to present Orchestra Concert
October 19, 2006 - The Department of Music at Arkansas State University
in Jonesboro will present the ASU Orchestra in concert on Monday,
October 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Fowler Center, Riceland Hall.
The ASU Orchestra is under the direction of Dr. Robin Dauer. Musical
selections include The Noon Witch, Op. 108 by Antonin Dvorak, the world
premiere of Cello Concerto in E Minor by Jeremy Crosmer with cello solo
by the composer, selections from Lyric Pieces, Op. 68 by Edvard Grieg,
and Symphony in C Major, Op. 1, No. 3 by Michael Haydn.
Members of the ASU Orchestra include Jane Anfinson, Bill Keisker,
Michael Lee, and Hope Smith all of Jonesboro, Kate Ryan of Memphis,
Tenn., Cecily Kennemore of Paragould, first violins; Ann Swaty, Ellen
Burns, Friedrick Tarkington, and Sebastian Tarkington all of Jonesboro,
Thomas Norris of Sherwood, Tyleranne Chapman of Little Rock, second
violins; Paul Markowski and Marcia Burns both of Jonesboro, violas;
Devin Rivas-Martin of Salina, Kan., Meghan Matthews of Jonesboro,
cellos; Kevin Cremeens of Jonesboro, bass; Jason Holder of Newport,
timpani; Caitlin Sammons of Bald Knob, Sunnie MaCarty of Hardy, flutes;
A.J. Whetton of Jonesboro, piccolo; Jessica Crociata of Tampa, Fla.,
Tiffany Schmidt of Lakewood, Colo., oboes; Mylie Brown of Walnut Ridge,
Tony Saylors of Pocahontas, clarinets; Ana Markowski of Jonesboro, bass
clarinet; Bryan Eckert, Carissa Porter, and Amy Penny all of Jonesboro,
bassoons; Jeremy R. Wortham, Laura Thompson, Rachel Smith, and Lauren
Howard all of Jonesboro, horns; Ben Light of West Ridge, Jon Stevenson
of North Little Rock, Josh Gardener of Paragould, trumpets; Seth Weston,
J.D. Hogue, and Daniel Harrelson all of Jonesboro, trombones; Connie
Simmons of Jonesboro, tuba.
