Grand Opening and Celebration
of the new residence hall is Oct. 6

September 29, 2006 - Residence Life at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro is hosting a Grand Opening Celebration for the new residence hall, North Park Quads, on Friday, Oct. 6. Festivities will begin with the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. followed by refreshments and tours.

ASU’s newest housing facility is located between the Baptist Campus Ministry and the Convocation Center. It accommodates 836 students in five separate residential buildings.  It also includes a Community Building with a laundry, kitchen, meeting rooms, and administrative offices.  Students live in four-bedroom two-bath suites.  Each suite includes a living room and kitchenette.  Bedrooms and living rooms are furnished.

The Honors College Hall, Building Three, is home to first year and upper-class Honors College students.  The remaining four buildings are reserved for students with at least one year of college experience.

Residence Life offers six campus housing options. According to director Patrick Dixon, Residence Life provides a safe, diverse, and well-maintained environment that complements and supports the academic mission of the University. The department creates a dynamic living/learning experience that promotes and inspires individuals to become empowered community members.

All students, faculty and staff are invited to celebrate the grand opening of North Park Quads. For more information contact Beth Silverthorn at bsilverthorn@astate.edu or call 972-3355.
