Mission
We are a diverse scholarly community improving lives through
teaching, research, and service.
Core Values
Arkansas State
University holds the following
values central to the success of our students and to the University’s success
as a whole:
- Student-Centered
Focus: We are a
student-centered institution committed to educating and serving students
in order to meet their changing needs.
We believe in fostering lifelong learning, civic and social
responsibilities, leadership, and personal and career growth.
- Excellence: In our pursuit of excellence, we take
pride in the quality of our students and personnel, alumni, academic
programs and instruction, student services and activities, research and
scholarly activities, and academic and support services.
- Diversity: We
value diversity in all of its dimensions, realizing that mutual respect
for individuality is vital for both student and institutional success.
- Service: Service is encouraged and recognized at
all levels of the University. We
encourage everyone at Arkansas State
University to contribute in meaningful ways
to the greater good of the University, the state of Arkansas,
and the world.
- Integrity: We value and hold forth high standards
of character and integrity as the foundations upon which the University is
built.
Vision
We
will be internationally known as a center for research in strategic areas and
as an academic community whose excellence in teaching fosters a lifelong
intellectual engagement of its members, a respect for individual and cultural
diversity, and a commitment to responsible global citizenship.
