Lecture-Concert Series presents Patrick Sheridan, world-class tubist

Oct. 7, 2008 -- Patrick Sheridan, world-class tubist, is the featured performer in the fourth event of Arkansas State University’s Lecture-ConcertPatrick Sheridan, world-class tubist, will perform as part of ASU's Lecture-Concert Series Tuesday, Oct. 21. Series. Sheridan will present “An Evening with Patrick Sheridan” on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Riceland Hall, Fowler Center, 201 Olympic Drive, Jonesboro. This performance, like all performances in the Lecture-Concert Series, is free, and the public is invited.

As a former member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, Patrick Sheridan has thrilled audiences across the United States with his amazing virtuosity and musicianship as one of the band’s primary soloists. He is equally at home with standard classical repertoire and as an entertainer in the realm of popular music. Recently featured on NBC’s Today Show, he is a regular on BBC Radio, PBS stations, and NPR broadcasts, including NPR’s program “All Things Considered.”  This year’s touring schedule will take him to 20
countries around the globe and 35 states across America. He has also co-authored the popular pedagogy book, “The Breathing Gym,” with Sam Pilafian. Sheridan’s performance is co-sponsored by the ASU Bands and Jupiter Instruments.
